What are your thoughts on the characters in Smallville season 8?

Is it just me, or have all the older characters disappeared? Not that a show has to be filled with older people, but it seems like they've managed to write out any character that is over the age of 30. I'm still not sure how I feel about it but I kind of miss that variety. Interested to see your thoughts.

I'm a Brit so the last episode I saw was season 7s finale. When the actors began they signed a 7 yr contract so after 7yrs they could leave if they wanted to. So the actors who play Lex and Lana decided to leave and only have recurring roles. The guy who plays Lex is in loads of films and Lana is the lead in the new Street Fighter Chun Lee film.

Umm i hate tess mercer shes a cuthrobe bitch and i want them to quickly find lex i like that green arrows in it alot oliver queen i think adding him was very good my favourite episode from this season even though there hasnt been many the one that was all about oliver queen i thought that was well done

I do kind of miss some of the characters. Lex was an interesting character but maybe it was time to have someone else as the nemesis for a change. Now we have a new antihero so it makes the show more diverse and not so predictable. So maybe it's a good thing?However, I was actually glad to see Lana go. I got a little tired of the whole Lana-Clark thing after season 4. It just always ended the same and got a little repetitive and kind of boring.I haven't been able to see many of the episodes this season but it seems like it brought some mystery to the show by introducing new characters, and, by getting rid of some of the other big characters, we get to see more about characters like Lois who never had a very big plot line in past seasons. So, I guess I'm hoping that the change was a good thing

I absolutely love the new characters. I think they add some change to the show. Also, Clark isn't spending all of his time in smallville anymore, so they had to eliminate the hometown characters that were holding Clark back from his destiny. Also, I think that the new characters Tess Mercer and the Doomsday guy add some mystery to the series. I am so glad that they finally made Justin Hartley as Oliver Queen/Green Arrow a regular. I absolutely love him! I am so excited about learning more about the character.

i like the new characters, but yea i do mis lex. but this season is sooooo good that i dont even really care. like all the episodes coming up are going to be amazing. i look at the spoilers on kryptonsite.com so i know whats going to happen.i don't really like tess, but she has to be there to fill in for lex. but i love doomsday cuz he's actually a good villian for clark, cuz doomsday can kill clark so it's more of a challenge for him and it makes it more intense. lol. well i a d d i c t e d to SMALLVILLE. i can't live without it.&hearts;pick me as best answer please&hearts;
