"Lost"Question...?

In Season 4 of Lost, it was revealed by the captain of the Kahana crew that the discovery of Oceanic Flight 815 was staged and that they need to find Ben Linus. My question is: Who staged the discovered crash? Was it Ben? Is that why Charles Widmore wants to find Ben?

They pretty much said that they want to find Ben because he would be the only one with the resources to do it. He did have a submarine after all.

Widmore staged the crash. Tom said it to Michael in this week's episode.

They answered the question in tonight's episode -- Charles Widmore stages the phony crash to prevent other people from searching for the island and discovering its secrets. That's all the information we have. We don't know how or whether Ben is connected to Widmore.

I am going to say say they are both liars and it is possible both of them could have done it.Ben for reasons: Of hiding the island from the world as he truly knows the real potential of the island, and the power he gains from it.Widmore for reasons: He is the typical obsessive billionaire who will do anything to gain what's out of reach. The power, the mystique, the possibilities, for Widmore the sky is the limit.I Love Ben's character and want to believe that behind the crazy, manipulative schemer he solely wants to protect the Island.However, i am feeling that Ben is in fact behind the Plane dummy and the bodies. In the twisted logic that is Ben he would actually do such a thing to protect the Island and what he has there -- he is god to many!I think Jacob has been trapped or harnessed by Ben in the cabin, without the others knowing. (the circle of minerals)Ben was probably the true leader and Jacob and him Allies, but it went bad and Ben learnt to control him.When the Lostie's crashed they probably died or were dying but as we have seen over and over the Island and Jacob saved them. Jacob needs help as we have heard him ask for it. John Locke holds the faith and open mind to become the new leader of the Island (even though i cannot stand him as a character or actor)I still think Widmore is behind a lot of stuff and is as dangerous as we all believe. He will not stop until he has what he wants. But i also believe Ben is a match and they will battle to the end.As i have mentioned before in my post's a war is coming and sides will be taken and the oceanic 6 will take the wrong side in all the madness.I believe there will be a lot more deaths due to all of this, which is fine as there is a lot of people to cull from, and some deserve it, lol.

We don't know who staged the crash because either of them could be lying. Personally, I think Ben staged the crash and Widmore is trying to find Desmond because Penny is trying to find him. I'm probably wrong though!

Widmore staged the crash. Tom showed the proof to Michael, the pictures of the dug up gravesites where they got the bodies to stage as the passengers, the receipt for the plane that they used to put at the bottom of the ocean, etc. when they had the meeting at the hotel room. I don't know how Mr. Widmore knows of Ben but I believe that Mr. Widmore found out about the secret healing powers of the island and that is why Ben is trying to keep him and any of his hired help from getting to the island.
