question re how i met your mother television show?

How I Met Your Mother Flashing forward to 2030, Ted Mosby gathers his children to tell them the tale of how he met their mom. The story began in 2005 with Ted 27 year old single architect residing with his two closest friends from Wesleyan University.

Tonight's episode ended with Barney typing into his computer.The music reminded me of another sitcom, with the character typing their thoughts into a computer, but I cannot remember it.Please help. Thanks.

Never watched how I Met Your Mother, but is that the show with Neil Patrick Harris? Did it end the way Doogie Howser would journal in his computer?

Only watch a few episode on TV, i bought the dvd boxset from cartoon77.com yesterday and hope it will arrive soon.
