That was my take for her reasons:

"I'll work hard and campaign for those who are proud to be Americans and are inspired by our ideals and won't deride them," Palin said.

"I won't do it from the governor's desk. I have never believed (that) I, or anyone else, needs a title to do this.

??

In your opinion her stepping down..is it going to be good or bad for humans and animals? Your thoughts?

and....So why do you think she did that?

"We know we can effect positive change outside government at this moment in time, on another scale, and actually make a difference for our priorities," Palin said, referring to herself and her husband, Todd, a champion snow-machine racer.

She is leaving one of the least populous states in the country for one of the most populous: Fantasy Land.

Narcissistic, gees I can not believe any one would describe Sarah Palin as that, actually I can seems like the perfect description to me. As to why she stepped down I am VERY shocked, not something I would have thought she would do. Think this is something we will find out more about in the ensuing months, she is a woman with a plan. I would personal be very onset if I voted for her and she did this, changing horses in mid stream sorta speak, but I do not even like her so it is not to bad. Good or bad for humans and animals, well I do not know anything about the lit. governor of Alaska, we will have to wait and see. Hopefully he is not cut completely out of the same cloth as Sarah Palin. Sarah P. made it very hard to like her, she said and did things which were remarkably dumb, for some one in a position of power. Also how do you run for government a strict PRO-FAMILY platform and not be close enough to your children to know that on is pregnant? I know lots of parents miss the signs but they do not pretend to be mother of the year either.

I just hope that under new leadership the Alaskan people and Wild Life will benefit.

Sorry - it is good for the state of Alaska and American politics. People who are in politics who are so weak in PR and other campaigns are the butt jokes of American Comedy. Her comments during the campaign and other shows made me think she is really not a polished politician but a lame duck. No doubt so many night show hosts picked on her as well as the radio talk show hosts. I was puzzled by the pick as a VP and wonder why we have so many politicians who cannot even handle the question.

I think somethings about her make me laugh on how much she knows about the geography. She mentioned that she can see Russia from her backyard...yeah right, just because she is several thousand miles away from her home does not mean Russia is close by.

IMHO, she may be better off going and working for David Letterman or Saturday Night Live show.

Actually, she said she was seeking something "outside" of government. Frankly, I think she has either a high-power job, or a well-paying job, already lined up.

But her reasons for quitting were refreshingly honest. As a lame duck, she is left dealing not with the problems of her state, but with the problems piled on her by innuendo, gossip, and spiritual harm to her family; not to mention all the lawsuits and paper-pushing that will not serve her administration. Let the new guy, who is not a "lame duck", deal with it, and maybe he can get elected on how he demonstrates his ability to lead.
