What happened to Friday Night Lights?

Friday Night Lights Friday Night Lights is an American series drama about the Dillon Panthers, a high school football team based in in a ficticious town called Dillion in Texas. The show focuses on the coach, Eric taylor, and his family. The show frequently covers contemprary issues facing Middle America.

I'm just wondering because it quit all of a sudden. I knew that they almost did'nt continue it after the first season but dit they really stop making it midway through the second season?
