Why are the some of the models on america's next top model not that beautiful?

I mean for America's next TOP model, I'd expect them to blow me away with amazing beauty and sexiness, instead they show some anorexic, weird ass loo kin girls (some)
I think any playboy model is 10 times better than these women

Yeah I agree, you wouldn't be like "Wow she's beautiful!" If you saw some of them walking on the street. But I think the judges are looking for good facial features, such as high cheek bones, big lips, etc.
And plus, with some of them, getting their makeup, hair, and sometimes teeth fixed makes the show more dramatic I think since the audience can watch them grow as models. The way they aren't all uncommonly pretty, like playboy's models, also probably helps make some teenagers feel good about themselves, and give them hope for their future too.
But about the skinniness thing, one of the seasons a Plus Size model one, which was out of the ordinary from the usual 110 pound 5'8'' girls!

Although with "high fashion" models what they look for is uniqueness, and not the kind of beauty that we think of when we hear "model". So I hope that answers your question.

Those make-up people, and hairdressers can work their magic on even the plainest girls, and suddenly they are stunning, so I believe any girl that can walk in a straight line and is slim can be a so called top model. Take Kate Moss, if you saw her out shopping, no make-up on and dressed like a bag lady, you could`NT imagine her to be a model, yet by the time they`vie slapped the make-up, done the hair and wrapped her skinny bod in designer gear. She looks every bit the top model. Lets face it , clothes usually look better on a coat hanger than on a lot of the average size woman.

I always think the same exact thing...none of these chicks are ever what I in vision as being the next "top thing" in the modeling industry.

I get that quirky can be beautiful & can make for really edit oral pictorials BUT none of these chicks seem to have the "presence" about them. none of them make me look at them 2wince & say Mg threes just something about that girl that's amazing & I just cant put my finger on it. for the most part they are all pretty girls but generally just plain Mary Jane's in my opinion
